Masahiro Asamura is Senior Managing Partner and an experienced lawyer who manages ASAMURA IP P.C. and Asamura Law Offices. His specialism lies in IP litigation and disputes related to the patent, trademark, designs, copyright and Unfair Competition Prevention Act (UCPA) matters. He is also experienced in handling invalidation trials, warning letter correspondence, negotiations and licensing. As each case is unique, Masahiro often teams up with patent attorneys to utilize a team approach that is successful and efficient.
Prior to joining Asamura, he gained experience as a lawyer at Kagoshima District Court. At Nagashima &Hashimoto, he acted as an associate focusing on domestic and international legal disputes. He established Asamura Law Offices in 2011, a law firm that provides clients with expert legal advice in disputes concerning intellectual property rights.
As a master’s degree student at the University of Edinburgh, he researched a method for quantitative analyzing iron components in soil. At Lancaster University, he conducted a research on a method for analyzing compositional changes in fumaric acid and fulvic acid by soil depth.
In addition, Masahiro was also involved in examining court cases and Japanese litigation system when he served as a member of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association’s Amicus Brief Committee.
