The Patent Lawyer Magazine July/August Issue 2026 features an article written
by Asamura IP’s Yoshiteru Mizumoto
Yoshiteru Mizumoto, the Head of Asamura IP’ Mechanical and Electrical Department, has written an article titled “Japan’s GX Policy and Its Relationship to Patent Applications Based on the GXTI,” which was published in the latest Issue of the Patent Lawyer Magazine 2026.
GX: An abbreviation for Green Transformation, referring to efforts to transition the structure of society and industry, which currently relies heavily on fossil fuels, toward a model centered on clean energy.
GXTI (Green Transformation Technologies Inventory): A classification table for GX-related technologies created and published by the Japan Patent Office in June 2022, which is meant to visualize and analyze patent information regarding GX technologies, such as decarbonization and clean energy.
