Operational Changes in Response to the 4th Emergency Announcement: Guidance by

In response to a spike in Covid-19 cases, Japanese government issued the fourth emergency declaration in Tokyo on July 12, 2021. Please refer to the following guideleines:
Staff
We remain fully operational as our employees continue working full-time remotely in a secure environment. All online procedures for the Japan Patent Office (the JPO) can be performed at home, and we will continue to accept job requests as usual. Consultations and meetings will be held via web conferences (Zoom, Teams), however, if you need to schedule a face-to-face meeting at all costs, please let us know in advance.
During this period, we can only receive mail twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday so please note that the receipt of mail may be delayed. For any original documents that have a deadline submission, we would appreciate it if you could provide the attorney in charge with the tracking number so we can determine the expected arrival date and receive the original on time.
