Japan: International Application Fees Revised: May 1, 2026
For international applications filed with the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the international filing and handling fees will be revised as follows effective May 1, 2026.

*¹ Filing fee: Sending fee (17,000 yen) + search fee (143,000 yen) + international filing fee (a) + fee for pages exceeding 30 (number of pages exceeding 30 x (b)) Reduction in case of filing an online application (c)
*² Fees for requesting international preliminary examination: Preliminary examination fee (34,000 yen) + handling fee (D) + additional fee for preliminary examination (preliminary examination fee (28,000 yen) x (number of inventions – 1))
