Operational Changes in Response to the Emergency Announcement: Guidance by Asamura Patent Office / Asamura Law Offices
On January 7, 2021, Japan is planning to announce a state of emergency in Tokyo and other major cities once again based on the Act on Special Measures against Pandemic. It will be effective from Friday, January 8,2021, until February 7,2021, so during that period, please refer to the following guidelines:
We remain fully operational as our attorneys and employees continue working full-time remotely in a secure environment. All online procedures for the Japan Patent Office (the JPO) can be performed at home, and we will continue to accept job requests as usual.
During this period, we remain fully operational and you can contact us by phone, fax or email. For phone calls, please call the direct number of the person in charge as you would during normal business hours. Consultations and meetings will be held via web conferences.
During this period, we can only receive mail twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday so please note that the receipt of mail may be delayed. For any original documents that have a deadline submission, we would appreciate it if you could provide the attorney in charge with the tracking number so we can determine the expected arrival date and receive the original on time.
