Akira Kitagawa is a patent attorney working in the Mechanical & Electrical Department of Asamura Patent Office, p.c. He joined the firm in November 2013.

At Waseda University, he majored in condensed matter theory.

During his time at Denso Corporation, his work mainly involved the development of power circuits for LSI circuits installed in engine control units. At Renesas Electronics Corporation (including his work at Hitachi and Renesas Technology Corp.), he was primarily involved with the development of the successive-approximation type A/D converter installed in in-vehicle microcomputers and the development of an analog input/output designed for the A/D converter.

Mr. Kitagawa passed the Patent Attorney Examination in 2007. On his transfer to the intellectual property department in 2008, he became involved with handling patent infringement warnings from other companies, patent infringement litigation, and applications for in-house company patents.
